AN EVENING WITH RUTH PADEL AT THE KEATS-SHELLEY HOUSE, Thursday 24 September, 18.30
Join us for an evening of poetry and reflection, as Ruth Padel gives a special poetry reading inspired by John Keats, including poems of her own and also by Keats himself, interspersed with a talk about the romantic poet's influence on her as a poet, and what his work means for other people writing poems today.

Ruth Padel is a prize-winning British poet and author, with ten celebrated collections to her name. Other works include much-loved books on reading contemporary poetry, a novel featuring wildlife conservation in India and a personal memoir of wild tiger conservation. She also has science in her blood: she is the great great grand-daughter of Charles Darwin, and the only writer to be both Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a Trustee of the Zoological Society of London. Her awards include First Prize in the National Poetry Competition and a “Darwin Now” award. She is Poetry Fellow at King’s College London, where she teaches Creative Writing.
