DANTE AND THE ENGLISH ROMANTICS

Following the publication of his latest book, Dante's Divine Comedy: A Journey Without End (Head of Zeus, 2018), Ian Thomson will join us at the Keats-Shelley House to talk about some of the ways in which Dante inspired the English Romantic poets.  

Ian Thomson is a British author, best known for his biography Primo Levi (2002), which  won the Royal Society of Literature W.H.Heinemann Prize,  and his multiple prize-winning book of reportage, The Dead Yard: Tales of Modern Jamaica (2009). He has also translated the Sicilian crime writer Leonardo Sciascia into English. Ian Thomson is currently Senior Lecturer in Creative Non-Fiction at the University of East Anglia and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
