Michael Rossington is Professor of Romantic Literature at Newcastle University. He has research interests in: the literature of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, especially poetry, life-writing, republican thought, manuscript studies, translation, and bibliography; the writings of Percy B. Shelley, Mary Shelley and those authors closely associated with them; and textual editing. He is co-ordinating editor of the  Longman Annotated English Poets edition of The Poems of Shelley vols 4  (2013) and 5 (2018), and contributed to vols 2 (2000) and 3 (2011). He also co-edited  The Reception of P. B. Shelley in Europe  (2008). He is a member of the advisory boards of The Oxford University Press Edition of the Works of Robert Burns, The Reception of British and Irish Authors in Europe, and The Shelley-Godwin Archive. He is a member of the British Association for Romantic Studies, and a Friend of the Bodleian Library, the Keats Shelley Memorial Association, Newcastle University Library and the Wordsworth Trust.
